Synopsis

Tyler Marlocke finally meets his new mentor, The Revenant. The Revenant;s self driving car brings Tyler to his hideout over a metahuman gym. There, Tyler picks out some equipment and settles in for a weekend of un-powered vigilante training.

After some basic equipment training the reverent asks Tyler to provide him with a mystery they can solve together. Tyler presents the mysterious photo he found in The Beacon of Justice. To begin their sleuthing the Revenant takes Tyler to see an information broker called The Consultant. Once at the Consultant’s office the Revenant improvises a nom de plume for Tyler, dubbing him Moon Shadow.

While they speak with the Consultant, a rouge for hire called Kestrel sneaks into the office and steals sensitive documents. Moon Shadow and the Revenant give chase, but with the help of her partner, The Highway Man, the Kestrel escapes. However, before she does, Moon Shadow points a device at her from his utility belt he doesn’t understand. The device turns out to be a scanner that in addition to seeing through walls reveals that the Kestrel has had extensive “work” done. In exchange for not revealing her personal medical history the Kestrel returns the documents to The Revenant. Once the weekend is over Tyler returns to PS238 and puts his knew skills to use, landing himself in detention for using the scanner and some inappropriate language on Ms. Kyle.

Prospero Translations

The "language" speak by Prospero is what is called Wingdinglish, meaning that it is writen in english but using a font not based in the roman alphabet. In the case of Prospero the font used is called "Camouflage" and can be found in many sites, like this one.

• Page 3, Panel 3: Miss Angela has challenged me to a combat ritual called "miniature golf". We are playing for the honor of our homeworlds. Wish me luck.

• This issue marks Kestrel and The Highway Man's only in-comic appearances so far.
